Abenobashi Mahou ShotengaiAuthor: Arukard HAHA! This is an excellent series I would recommend to almost anyone. Abenobashi Mahou Shotengai, or "Abenobashi Magic Shopping District" is one of the newest (if not THE newest) made by (the oh-so-infamous) Gainax (Evangelion, FLCL, Ebichu, ect.). The animation isn't the most wonderful thing, but isn't too bad either. Back to the story line. This is one of the funniest anime I've seen in a while. Every episode is a spoof of something, just completely making fun of it, such as Eva (yes, they're making fun of their own work), RPG's, and Fist of the North star (which deserves to be made fun of). It's kind of confusing at first. Just make sure you get past the first episode, it starts picking up after that. Has anybody ever seen the American TV show, Sliders? Well, it's a little bit like that. These two kids are brought to a different time and such, but the people are the same, and they're always in the same place (Abenobashi). There is a definite lack of seriousness in all of this, but that just makes it funnier. Hardcore anime fans will LOVE this. If you're in the mood for a comedy, check this series out.
