Apocalypse ZeroAuthor: Mark McPherson Ever picked up a video that had something really gross you just had to laugh at it? Sure, you might have seen something like that. Like when in Ninja Scroll a big rock man tears off a guys arms and drinks the blood from them. Is that not gross enough? How about a gigantic naked woman who can squeeze young girls with her hands until their guts pop out of their mouths? And that's only the first 20 minutes. The story is of Kakugo and his sister, Harara, who are both being trained by their father in the wintery climate. Soon, they acquire a special armor made of many souls. Kakugo takes Zero and Harara takes Kasumi. However, Harara uses her new powers for evil and sends her minions after Kakugo and his new high school friends. The show is basically a monster-of-the-week type of show. Each one has some grossly violent and ecchi technique, each one using a different part of the body. And they have personalities. Kind of like watching the monsters on Sailor Moon while on acid. One thing this show has going for it is its great character designs and EXTREMELY violent gore. Body parts flying, skin getting torn off, intestines flying. You know, the not-so-usual kind of violence you find in so few anime titles. There is a plot to the series, but I wouldn't count on it. Either you like this show or you hate it. You can't just say it's an okay title. To put it simply, Apocalypse Zero is a gore fest. And if that's what you need, go out and get it. Overall Rating: 7
