The beyblades ('spinning tops') are made up of an attack ring, defense ring, and base. On the top of the most experienced blader's blades is a bit that has a symbol of some kind of animal - mythical or real. That animal is that blader's bit beast. A great and powerful creature that has been trapped inside and manipulated by the blader.
