Boogiepop PhantomAuthor: Devilzero The people at Animerica are wussies! I got an Animerica issue a few months ago saying that Boogiepop Phantom was so scary it beat down "The Sixth Sense" and Alfred Hitchcock's "Psycho". To say the very least, they would probably pee in their pants watching Yu-Gi-Oh or Pokemon! Boogiepop Phantom's first three episodes introduce two versions of Boogiepop: The skinny one and the almighty one, which shows up in the second & third DVD. Basically a teen-related thriller, this series is strictly based on teen problems such as murders and suicides based on a giant flash of light like Generator Gawl, and Aurora-Borealis-style backdrops. It was obviously not-scary because it aired on Japanime TV which means the same time slot as "Yu-Gi-Oh", "Shaman King", "Inuyasha", "Conan", etc. Mostly with crooked cops killing girls for fun but not raping them, all because the girls are all somehow crazy thinking that god is nothing but a myth and this world was created by accident and stuff like that, which might offend some religions and offended mine until the crooked cop said, "Both girls... My lucky day!" and used his hands to tear up their skin, none of them shout, and the guy just smiles and pulls out his gun shooting each twice or so, and a few seconds later when the cop is just driving away, the true friend trying to save one of the girls just misses her blood-drenched, shin and ankle-busted body being driven away in a cop car in broad daylight! Other than that, I would highly reccomend this for those who're just not ready for "Vampire Hunter D", "Bloodlust", or "Wicked City". And just for the record, "Astro-Boy" is scarier than this. (I can't insult anyone because I get nightmares from watching "Doraemon" and "DiGi Charat"). Honestly, get an anime anyone else rates, but don't get anything rated by an Animerica person that says it's scarier than "The Sixth Sense". It's probably the same person that I really want to hit in the jaw. And if that person ever reads this, or if you know him/her, tell that person to keep away from anyone dressed up as a priest at Anime Expo 2002 in July, because I'll be there and I'll do to that person what that cop did to those girls, because poor raters should be beaten down and humiliated.
