Chobits (2)Author: Iris-chan Fresh off the CLAMP press, and now brilliantly animated by MadHouse, Chobits is the story if Motosuwa Hideki, a starving ronin (student declined from college) and now living the hard life away from his Hokkaido farm, and in Tokyo! The hottest craze nowadays is the Persocom. The Persocom is your basic PC that can record information, access the Internet, and help you run errands! What's even cooler is that they come in all shapes and sizes, resembling human girls and guys (girl models are more common). When Hideki realizes that EVERYONE has one, even his tech-head ronin friend, Shinbo, he's game for one. One fateful day, Hideki is coming home from the store, and finds a girl tied up in the trash. Thinking it's a murder victim, he begins to freak out and runs to investigate... only to find out he's found a trashed Persocom! Now our boy's in luck, and he takes his prize home. However, this Persocom, which Hideki named Chii, is no ordinary Persocom. She can move without an OS, and seems to be amnesia-ridden. Hideki becomes best friends with her, and the story takes off from there as Hideki strives to solve the mystery Chii holds within. Overall, Chobits is a very high-quality series that should be watched by CLAMP fans and others alike. MadHouse does a beautiful job with the animation, which is extremely smooth and flawless. Also, the intro and ending sport an incredible combination of animation and music. In addition, a whole menagerie of talented voice actors were brought on board, including Seki Tomokazu, Kumai Motoko, and up-and-coming Tanaka Rie.
